The future of Bushy Run Battlefield is in jeopardy. Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) funding for the site is being severely cut. PHMC is looking for an organization to fund and maintain the Battlefield. The Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society (BRBHS), the PHMC’s long-time partner at the site, has begun a capital campaign to raise money for the Save Bushy Run Battlefield Endowment. This endowment will assure the future of this site which is listed on the National Historic Register and is the only recognized Native American Battlefield in Pennsylvania.

We are asking for your help. We need to raise $1.5 million to continue operating the Museum in the future. If everyone in Westmoreland County would donate just $5.00 we could accomplish our mission. If you currently use the site for recreation, have visited the museum or have attended one of our special events you are well aware of the history and the beauty of this Battlefield. Even if you just appreciate American history and the sacrifices our forefathers made for this country, then you understand how important this site is to the community, to Western Pennsylvania tourism, and to the history of our nation.
